This is an old standard. Anyone who drinks bourbon, has had their fair share of an Old Fashioned. After Tasting and really enjoying, we bought a bottle of Iron Smoke and thought we should start with an old tried and true, and it did not disappoint!

Old Fashioned

Rogue is known for their amazing beers, not to mention probably thier most popular beer, Dead Guy Ale. Well they also distill some fantastic spirits as well, including the Dead Guy Whiskey utilizing the recipe from their beer.

Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients for an Old Fashioned
2-2.5oz Bourbon
.5oz Maple Syrup
2-3 Dashes of Chocolate Bitters
1 Dash of Orange Bitters (optional)
Build in Glass. Add Maple Syrup, then large cube. Dash with Bitters and add bourbon. Light stir
Garnish: barrel aged cherry & orange or lemon wheel (We used a lemon wheel in this one).

The idea is pretty simple. As we taste and review various whiskies, we will be making a few cocktails along the way and even tweaking as we see fit to give them a new perspective.
