Review & Tasting Notes
A true departure from the entry-level Maker's Mark offering. This bourbon is a superb sipper and an excellent choice for a cocktail. Try it neat, try it in a cocktail and let us know what you think!
Tasting Notes |
Color |
Bright Copper |
Nose |
Rich burnt caramel greets you. Charred oak, light leather, and a dollop of marshmallow. A tingle of ethanol is present but thankfully isn’t distracting. Baked cinnamon apples and baked pie crust. Weighty oak and leather notes, providing for a nice foundation to kick off the sip |
Palate |
Nose carry over adding dark caramel and brown sugar and making their presence immediately known. Cinnamon pushes through and carries with it faint notes of fruits and a light drizzle of honey. The flavors are deliciously sweet with an anchoring presence of charred oak |
Finish |
Sweet fresh cinnamon bread lingers for a beat before quickly transitioning to more dry flavors in the form of charred oak and leather. Light white peppercorn grounds. The finish ends on a lingering dried charred oak note supported by a warming heat |
